Las Vegas Opens its Doors to Cannabis Consumption: First Recreational Lounge Receives License

On February 16, 2024, Nevada regulators issued the first-ever license for a recreational cannabis consumption lounge in the state. The aptly named “Smoke and Mirrors” lounge, owned by Thrive Cannabis Marketplace, the state’s largest independently owned cannabis business, received the license after a successful inspection. While Nevada legalized recreational marijuana use in 2016, consumption was previously restricted to private residences or designated hotel rooms. The opening of Smoke and Mirrors is just the beginning.
